How the numbers are built
- Air: chargeable weight is the greater of actual weight and volume × 167 kg/cbm; rate per kg steps down at 45, 100, 300 and 1,000 kg (October 2026 China indications; Taiwan +20 %, Japan +30 %)
- Sea LCL: charged per weight-or-measure (1 cbm or 1,000 kg), plus CFS and document fees at both ends
- Sea FCL: a 20' box up to 28 cbm, 40' high-cube boxes above; container rates from the Rates page plus the EU ETS surcharge
- From Taiwan and Japan, sea lanes add 3 to 4 days and air about one day
- Delivery to door: a road leg from the nearest hub, scaled by country distance band
- Customs value: goods plus freight and insurance to the EU border (CIF). Duty on the customs value; VAT on customs value plus duty
What is not in the estimate
- Anti-dumping or countervailing duties (some steel fasteners from China carry them)
- Dangerous-goods surcharges for lithium batteries, and crane or special equipment at delivery
- Excise, recycling (WEEE) or packaging fees that some countries charge on import
- Switzerland, Norway and Iceland: the transit from the EU hub and national clearance fees are simplified
- Preferential origin: Japanese goods are shown at 0 % duty assuming a valid statement on origin
